Quick-tips for SFC Users
SKILLSFUTURE SUBSIDY (SSG FUNDING)

  • What it is:
A government subsidy provided by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) to support training and workforce development.
  • How it works:
    • The course provider claims the subsidy directly from SSG
    • You only pay the subsidised amount
    • Funding rate depends on course type, employment status, and age (e.g. up to 90% for mature workers)
  • Who it’s for:
    • Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents
    • Employers sending staff for training
  • Example use:
Jane pays only $50 for a course that originally costs $500, thanks to SSG funding applied upfront by the training provider.
CAN YOU USE BOTH?
(SKILLSFUTURE CREDIT & SKILLSFUTURE SUBSIDY)

Yes!
In many cases, SkillsFuture Credit can be used to pay the remaining course fees after the SSG subsidy has been applied.

SKILLSFUTURE CREDIT vs SKILLSFUTURE SUBSIDY: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

SkillsFuture Credit
  • What it is:
A personal credit given by the Singapore Government to Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above.
  • Who it’s for:
Individuals — to pay for eligible courses on their own.
  • How it works:
    • You get a one-time or periodic top-up (e.g., $500 or $1,000).
    • You can use the credit to offset course fees from SkillsFuture-approved training providers.
    • It’s not transferable and can only be used by the individual.
  • Example use:
John registers for a WSQ Food Safety Course and uses $300 from his SkillsFuture Credit to reduce the cost.
